My Deliverer

Psalm 34

“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles.  The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” 34:17-18

David wrote this right after he fled from King Saul. He was scared for his life.  He had nowhere to go and no one to help him.  He was completely alone.  Everything in his world had been lost and he was on the run to stay alive.

This scripture hangs on my window at my kitchen sink.  It has been one of the scriptures that has truly comforted me since the accident – to know that God is near and will take care of me through everything I have to go through on this earth. He is my Deliverer.
